Let me start by saying I am terrified of going to the dentist in NYC. The last dentist I visited quite literally yelled at me for having a gag reflex. And going to the dentist is already a terrifying thing for me without that nonsense. The team at the Hell’s Kitchen Tend are fantastic. They’re communicative, they listen, and they’re transparent. Tend had me show up for my appointment, only to plan on leaving me sitting in their waiting room indefinitely because they hadn't verified my insurance—despite assuring me beforehand that they had all of the required information. I came in today for a general cleaning. This is my first time as a patient at TEND and it was the worst experience I’ve ever had in my life. Dentist are usually a lot more caring and lighthearted when discussing oral health but Chantelle was a nightmare. I arrived very excited as I’ve been seeing lots of promotion about TEND. They could not treat the condition I came in for (TMJ) nor did I have the opportunity to ask about it until >1 hour into my appointment. Marketing is misleading as they literally show a PowerPoint describing TMJ and other dental conditions in the clinic yet couldn’t even directly refer me to another provider — they just showed me a website and told me to call another clinic myself.
The hygienist was terrible. She cleaned for 5 minutes, barely did anything. I usually do not leave reviews but this was pretty bad.
