I felt scammed after being billed $100 and being told that I am better off buying a new unit. I went in a week ago to get my JBL Boombox 1 repaired, and they told me that they could fix it, so I paid a $100 deposit ahead of time. After not hearing back for a week, I gave them a call. They told me that I was better off getting a new one, or it would cost upward of $300 for the repair, and that price tag wouldn't guarantee that the speaker would be working. He should have let me know the cost ($500) before moving ahead with the reel repair. Yes, now is working, but for that price he should have fixed the VU lights.
