My family of 5 visited Richard Platt a couple of times. He suggested rehab centers, and provided a space and some guidance for us to all convene and talk. It seemed as if he tried too hard to please us all. I believe he was unable to help us with things which are critical when dealing with a person who suffers substance abuse: boundaries and agreements between the parents and family members. Our son was having problems in school, mainly in social areas, but it was affecting all areas of his life. He was depressed and struggling academically and just couldn't seem to fit in anywhere. We tried all sorts of methods and interventions. Then we began working with Richard Platt and things started changing for the better. Now here we are a year later and our son is doing great.
