I’ve been a TD Insurance customer for over 2 years paying tenant/renters insurance on my condo apartment in Toronto. I recently discovered that my policy had me classified as a condo owner the entire time, resulting in me being charged at a significantly higher rate. In 2024 I was paying $67/month. In 2025 my rate jumped to $95/month — a 42% increase with no claims, no changes to my unit, nothing. The Ontario industry average increase in 2025 was only 7.15%.
