This branch treated me poorly for race related reasons and I did nothing to deserve this. I was simply trying to deposit a cheque I received that clearly had my legal name. First the staff asked me several invasive questions that I answered and then told me they wouldn’t cash or deposit my cheque and that I could go to the bank down the street. I feel completely disrespected and not safe to do banking here. They told me I could escalate it if I had a “problem with their policy”. No policy was any where to prove their claims.... read more

I had to visit the bank today because I urgently needed to prepare a document. I explained my situation to Pragati (I might be getting her name wrong!), as I needed to submit the paperwork as soon as possible. She kindly told me that the document would be ready the next day, but went the extra mile by offering to help me with a stamped version that might be useful in the meantime. I visited the TD Bank branch at 1080 Douglas Street early this morning today and had an uncomfortable experience with one of the bank representatives. During our interaction, I was asked where I was originally from, a question clearly prompted by my appearance and accent.
