Are Optometrists Doctors or Salesmen? I had an eye exam by Mr Tarr about 8 yrs ago. At that time I was wearing 1.0 readers and they were causing my eyes to feel strained. After the exam Mr Tarr told me I needed 2.0 readers. He said that my eyes were hurting because the 1.0’s were causing my eyes to be in a strain. Dr Tarr is the best optometrist I have personally seen as a patient. His clinical knowledge as well as his hands-on medical competency are first rate. Thorough, professional, and direct yet also relatable and easy to talk to. He genuinely seems to care about helping people and is certainly not trying to sell you anything you don't need. If these are qualities you appreciate in a doctor then I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking the services of an optometrist in the Winston-Salem area.
