Paid $400 for an appraisal to refinance my home. Appraisal was very inaccurate. Appraiser used the lowest selling homes in my area as the comparables instead of the higher per square foot price comps. He was at my house for only 10 minutes. Suggests a roof inspection even though I have a brand new roof. Added that my craftroom ceiling must be textured and painted and the exterior of my home painted. Bank will not finance based on the critical analysis of the minor cosmetic issues (which are the reason for the refinance.)
