Best Margaritas in the City – I stumbled upon this place one night while coming home from work. What a great find, the food is a unique blend of Mexican and Caribbean fusion and has the perfect amount of spices. The margaritas are what will bring me back again and again. The margarita choices are enough to keep you occupied, but the fresh taste and flavors blew me away. Some of the friendliest staff and ownership that I have ever been witness to. Do NOT miss out on this gem in the city, it is well worth it.
Friday night and we got a seat outside? – This place was just what we were looking for last Friday-- something quick, not too expensive, outside. We found all three! We ordered a mojito-- deliciously fantastic! The homemade chips were wonderful and crispy. We weren't starving so we just ordered the queso fondito with shrimp. It was a little greasier than I usually like, but it's baked cheese, what should I have expected, right? Anyway, it turned out to be a great night and I will definitely be back.
Great casual Mexican + people watching – This is the best combination of Mexican food and cafe seating on the Northside. There is no tradeoff at Tarascas between the patio seating and service, as it has been great each time I've been there. The margaritas are done well, the burritos are tasty, and the plantains are plentiful. Friendly Staff, Good Food, Great Drinks – Been to this place a couple of times. The staff is always happy to have you there, at least during my visits. Very accomodating. Breakfast is not my favorite there but all the other food is solid.
Golden Margarita and Burrito Dinner – Since we discovered this gem, it's become a favorite place to get margaritas and Mexican food. I recommend the golden margarita (worth the extra $1) and the chicken burrito dinner, but just about everything on the menu is fantastic!
Comfortable Mexican spot draws a lively Lincoln Park crowd with good food and an impressive margarita list. – In Short A mural of three bare-breasted women holding aloft a fruit tray provides a splash of color in this bright, white-tableclothed space. Food is fresh and generously portioned; favorite dishes include tequila shrimp appetizer, which has Buffalo wing-like zing, plus puntas al albanil (chopped steak with bacon) and toothsome carne asada: a whole steak with tortillas, refried black beans and Mexican rice.
Great margaritas – The food at this place is quite good. The nachos are excellent and I really enjoyed the carne asada. The best thing though are the margaritas. They have a huge selection of tequilas and make their drinks very strong. I recommend one of the huge aquarium-like margaritas. A few of those and you are well on your way to a good night.
good food, bad service – After seeing the HUGE margaritas every time my bus drove past, my girlfriend and I decided to try it out (being the margarita connoisseurs that we are).
