I was referred by my regular dentist for periodontal surgery and was nervous to say the least. However Dr. Valentine and his staff, especially surgical assistant Nicola were, professional, informative, reassuring, and put me at ease. Nothing was too much trouble for them with the procedure, aftercare, and finances explained in detail. The aftercare, especially phone calls to check on my wellbeing were reassuring.
Dr Valentine is very knowledgeable, professional and communicative, and the office staff are courteous and efficient.
Coming to the Durham office (245 NC 54) from points west, the Waze GPS app sent me to Duke Health, whose address is 234 Crooked Creek Pkwy--one left turn too soon. Once I got into that maze, Waze sent me in circles. Two minutes after my appt. time, I called THP&ID to say I'd be late. The operator said she would notify the front desk. I paid in advance and waited for the refund from the insurance to find out I was out of network. They lied in the first place and tried to twist their lies when I found out they are out of network and they failed to improve themselves wrong or right .I was scam be carefull
Everyone was very nice and I’m sure they did what needed to be done to my teeth, but I feel that their practice is very pushy, especially after hearing a similar experience from a co-worker. I ended up paying $3000 out of pocket for a deep cleaning because insurance only reimbursed me $400. My fault for not asking enough questions, but I was also terrified of losing my teeth after everything they told me, which I now realize was not as bad as it was made to seem.
