I've been to Tanpopo several times. Every single time the food has been amazing! The spicy tuna rolls are divine! The wine and saki is amazing and the noodles are delicious!! The atmosphere is quaint and relaxed. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. I will be back often!
Favorite restaurant. I drive an hour from Waukegan, Illinois maybe twice a month to visit this gem of an establishment. From the warm hospitality to the classical music they choose to pair with a perfect dining experience- Tanpopo is a hidden beauty off the I-45. More complex, yet simply better than any ramen spot you'll find around Chinatown in Chicago. Make it a mission to visit this place soon if you haven't already.
Very good food. My wife enjoyed the ramen, but I was in the mood for Korean food. The bulgogi was very good and the kimchi that came with it was noticeably better than most all of the Asian restaurants I frequent. That was a nice suprise and speaks to the quality of their food in general. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone, you will not be disappointed.
