This has been my experience twice so I just want to comment. The last two times I’ve been to Tannin, I’ve sat at the bar with friends and ordered drinks/small plates/etc. Both times, with different groups of friends, I’ve had a weird experience with the bartender (she has glasses/brownish hair with blonde streaks). Both friend groups commented how they didn’t feel welcomed, or that she came off very annoyed towards us from the time we sat down. It’s odd, and makes me not want to go back.
What an odd experience. We reserved a table for 4 for the Tannin Tiki weekend, where they were having special tiki drinks and food options. When we arrived, the host told us they were doing the tiki weekend, which let me know that my reservation just came in as a general reservation and not tiki-specific. The host gave us two menus and I let her know that two others would be joining us momentarily and requested two more menus, which never arrived. Our server was very strange. This was our first time here. We went for Tiki Tannin. Maggie, our server, was amazing. She was very friendly and took great care of us. We had the crispy shrimp, which was delicious. We had a few drinks off the Tiki menu and they were all terrific. I also had one of the best espresso martinis I have ever had. We will definitely be back!
