My wife donated a kidney to a complete stranger in January and we were stuck with over $6,000 in medical bills! They told us to contact them and not pay anything that it would be handled. Well it's been 6 months and we are still being charged 6k plus fees now! Whoever does accounting for this place needs to be audited. The doctors, staff, and facility were all amazing and performed above and beyond. Make sure your finances are in order before taking on this facility.
Update May 2026 To all the greatest professionals I've ever known thank you. My doctor sent the transplant referral to TGH two months ago. After constant follow up and phone calls for a month, they sent me transplant related videos to watch. After watching the video I sent confirmation email for them to schedule the appointment. It’s been three weeks no phone calls no communication on the next step. Horrible experience with the liver transplant team. We were let down badly. 😔😔😔 Ran us ragged for years just to be denied. we did everything they asked us to do for years! Milked our Insurance as long as they could… also the lady answering phones (Lilly) older woman who makes the appointments and the unorganized coordinator we believe they both interfered with a successful evaluation for my father to get on a transplant list. TGH is absolutely the best hospital in the Tampa Bay area. The nurses and the staff members are amazing!! My experience with this facility is A+!!
