Good Sales Talma Furniture in Holland is nicely located on Douglas. The store looks small from the outside, but is alot bigger inside than it looks! They have a large selection of furniture, and I was impressed with the quality of items. The salepeople are not pushy, but remain available for questions. The set-up is nice, with nice size pathways to meander around the store. They have a decent clearance section, but it is hard to view items because they are crammed in this section. frustrated I purchased a dining table and chairs about 1.5 yrs ago, the 2 day after delivery I had the service department out to look at it (the stain was missing from sveral locations on the table and there was thumb marks in the stain) and the service department said they couldn't fix it and a new table will be ordered. Unhappy we bought a table a few weeks ago and have had to have service out 3 times already, poor quality without the low price! During normal use, like dinner screws fall out or poke through, not too good for a $2000 table, we will not go back!
Nice selection... I was very impressed with how quickly we were able to purchase our chairs, even with doing the 90 days no payment financing option. I think we were in and out in 30 minutes top (well, it probably took me longer than that to decide!!! hehe) Plus I love treir buy one get one free LaZboy sale!
Disgraceful Service I purchased several pieces from Talsma that I was happy with. However, when a piece arrived that was clearly inferior, the owner himself refused to work with me to get me something that was satisfactory. They even wanted me to pay a "restocking fee" that was 30% of the cost to return a piece I wouldn't put in a college dorm room (crooked sheld, unevenly drilled knobs). Service after the sale We got recliners during the two for one price sale. Talsma's had a huge selection of recliners so we found the perfect ones for each of us. They had them in stock too so we got them delivered that week. Over time, one of them had an issue with the reclining function so we called and the service guy came out to take a look. They were Best recliners and had a lifetime warrenty. The service guy got the part we needed and had it fixed in no time. We have kids and they can be a little tough on our furniture... read more
Friendly staff We purchased our lazy-boy chairs from Talsma's in Holland about 5 years ago. We are still enjoying our purchase. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They explained everything about each make and model to us (several times), without getting annoyed. I have also been in browsing with my mom several times since then and have always had great service.
Local matters!! We purchased a living room set from Talsma's and it is great!! Our sales person was so helpful, she even came out the our house to help me layout the furniture since we have a lot of travel paths. The delivery guys were great too. I asked for a call ahead and they let me know that were about 15 minutes from my house. I would recommend this family owned and operated business!!
