My son was 10-years-old and was still not producing a correct "r" sound. Jamie has been a huge help with my now 4 year old daughter's speech. My daughter had a few sounds that she needed to master and Jamie was able to get her caught up in a matter of a few months. And the great thing is Jamie is very flexible and great with children as she is a mother herself. When my daughter "graduated" she was a little sad because she had so much fun playing the games Jamie incorporated to help improve her speech inconspicuously.
While I have lived in the US for over 20 yrs, I still have a noticeable accent. I took a 7 week course with Jamie, and found it tremendously useful and even enjoyable. Jamie did an excellent job as a tutor. She created a personal learning plan for me, she is focused, patient, meticulous, a has a great sense of humor. Jamie encouraged me to work on assignments between the sessions, checked my progress in a timely manner, and provided a valuable feedback and tips. I can't recommend her highly enough.
Jamie Tallent is a seasoned & exceptionally gifted speech-language pathologist. She can quickly remediate even the toughest speech disorders, such as the tricky "R" sound. She has a natural and easy way with children & can quickly & easily establish rapport. Her knowledge of both speech and language disorders is exceptional, and she communicates to parents with an exceptional ability to help them easily understand their child's profile and therapy plan/recommendations. My son Jay has just graduated from speech therapy with Jamie. It was the fastest, most productive therapy and speech growth for him EVER. In 6 short months, she corrected 8 years of /r/ and /l/ sound mistakes. My son talks a lot so that was a TALL order.
