The first leg of our 2025 golf trip was at Talamore, and I came away extremely impressed with the operation. Despite the heavy rain that came in early July, and the greens being punched recently, the course was in truly excellent shape. As you’d expect, the tee sheet was full, with groups going off both sides. But even with the crowd, everything ran efficiently and we enjoyed our rounds of golf and lunch.
Booked a tee time for a fun day of play after hearing only good things. First impressions completed ruined. After my playing partner had booked a 2 man tee time, we were paired with a daughter father duo playing a practice round at some of the slowest pacing I have personally witnessed. I would understand if I was playing a muni course, but for the cost of the round this felt reprehensible. Just finished a three day golf trip with friends and family, having played Mid Pines, Tobacco Road, and Talamore. While Tobacco Road was the big name course of our trip, Talamore was the silent winner for providing a pure relaxing and enjoyable round of golf. The course itself was in mint condition from tee boxes to greens. The layout was challenging and changing, providing plenty of variety. This resort and course is simply amazing. The course is in fantastic shape, not a weed to be seen, greens are firm and fast, tons of elevation and a layout that winds through the pines. Can’t say enough about this course, one of my favorites. A must play when coming to Southern Pines
