About

For a secondhand shop, this one is remarkably well-lit and arranged, and once you get a look at some of the labels, you'll understand why. This isn't a designer thrift shop, but a good percentage of its wares are seconds from department stores and higher-end boutiques, while the rest are gently used professional and casual attire. So, if you need stylish clothing at good prices, this is the place. The selection changes regularly. Just watch out for the inadequately curtained dressing rooms at the back.

make a little money, spend a little money – I have bought and sold many an item at Take 2. The employees are very helpful for sure (especially when I'm consigning). Of course since it's consignment it's hit or miss on if you find something you love. The whole front of the store is new items though (things with the tags cut out so you don't know what brand it was). The brand new items I have scored on here have been fancy cocktail dresses, winter hats and scarves, tights, tights and more tights and jewelry. The consignment items I have scored on here are designer jeans, kick ass knee-high stiletto boots, fancy dresses and just general clothes. This store is super clean and easy to navigate. I always feel overwhelmed when shopping at thrift stores but Take 2 is nothing like that. It feels like shopping in a boutique with thrift store prices.

Variety and quality -- great consignment store Take 2 is small, but has quality stuff. Don't get me wrong, it's a little more expensive than going to some of the thrift stores on Broadway or the U-District, but it's generally worth it. Even when I just pop in because I happen to be walking by, I always find something there. It's especially good for "professional" attire - say, for instance, if you have a job interview the next day and need a nice pair of slacks. I also found a gown to wear to a ball in France, nice tank tops, jeans, shoes, the works. A great range of things. They also have jewelry from local artists and some new items, too.

A consignment shop catering to women who don't want to look like they're wearing somebody's old clothes. – In Short Even though it's on Capitol Hill, this is no vintage store. The front of Take 2 proffers new women's wear in unrevealing, flowy linen, while the back is dedicated to current consignment items. Since clothing more than two years old isn't usually accepted, styles are semi-current and always presentable. Plus-sizes abound. Shoppers here are often career women in search of office-appropriate clothing or special occasion dresses for a steal.
