Nice Japanese restaurant with attentive staff and decent food. We had dinner here. Felt the menu items were overpriced & unjustified. Enjoyable but wasn’t impressed. The other Japanese place on cookman has tastier food and more reasonably priced options if that’s what you care about.
Had sushi with the family here. Service was mid (our sushi rolls took over an hour to come out, and our server did not make herself visible much), food was mid (shrimp was rubbery and overcooked, rice was hard, raw fish roll was better). Outdoor seating was nice. Overall, will not return.
There are a few things that make sushi good. The texture of the rice, the tenderness, quality and freshness of the fish, and that pop in your mouth. Taka doesn’t deliver on any of these. It isn’t outright bad, but it lands slightly below average across the board. The rice is a bit too thick and sticky, while the fish leans chunky rather than tender.
