I have been to TAJ lots of times. It used to be one of my husbands favorites. I hate eating there. The food is hit or miss. They rarely can keep a chef, so almost every time you go there its a different person in the back cooking. The only consistency is the vegetables are overcooked and the chicken is raw inside. The food is usually under seasoned; it may as well be American. It lacks spiciness as well as heat. The owner/waiter does little to nothing to address these issues.
The TAJ OF INDIA was recommended to us by our hotel general manager. We were in Augusta because my husband had to attend a training at the military base there. We had been considering another restaurant closer to our hotel serving Tamil food but the hotel manager (who is Indian born himself) suggested the TAJ. And what a GREAT suggestion that was!
