I had my road bike fit with Tad earlier this year. I was having some pretty severe left knee pain due to an imbalance in my previous fit and also due to nerve damage in my left calf and foot. The nerve damage no doubt makes the fit even that much more challenging to get right. Tad was able to very quickly identify the issues and straighten out the imbalances. Knowledgeable, professional, and a great guy! I was riding a tri bike that was completely wrong for me with regards to geometry and size. After a little time with Tad it was clear to me what bike I should be on. Purchased a new tri bike (as per his suggestions), took it in for a quick fit (as he had already done the tough part), and I've never looked back. I was fairly comfy on my Cervelo P2 but wanted some fine tuning in preparation for IM Boulder. Tad worked his magic and now I am more than comfortable; I feel strong with no cramping, soreness, or achiness after even the longest rides. Tad was professional, knowledgeable, and thoroughly explained what I could expect from my fit. I've referred friends to Tad because I believe in sharing the love. I too had bike fits from several LBS's where my body aches and pains never subsided until I went to Tad Hughes Custom Fit Studio. The best investment I've made on me and now my husband too! "No pain, no gain" was the motto I had prescribed to, thinking that knee, shoulders, feet and saddle aches and pains were a part of cycling. It was such a thrill to ride my bike without pain after implementing Tad's recommendations. Tad is definitely the "bike whisperer" as a friend of mine dubbed him after getting a fit from Tad herself.
Had the usual bike-store fitting when I purchased my new bike, but was having numbness in my hands and feet and searing pains in my knees. At 58 I truly thought I was just too old to be riding a bike anymore, but I was determined to meet a personal goal of riding in the MS150, After a Tad Hughes custom fitting the pains and numbness were gone and I felt nearly like a young rider again! I've done bike fits at a few other places but they always seemed to find something wrong and would push changes or components where I would end up purchasing a lot of stuff. My experience with Tad was quite different and refreshing. He assessed posture and body alignment and made tweaks to how my shoes were set up which helped immediately.
