Ive known this place for a long time, when tacos are $1.75 to $2, to $4, now a shocking $7-8 for mulas and sopes... We ordered the carne asada, and it was a bit tough. Still very flavorful. Yummy, taste.
While visiting San Diego for the first time, I went to Tacos El Gordo on a recommendation, and so glad I did. It ended up being the best tacos of my life. That’s saying a lot, as I am always on the hunt for great tacos. I ate at seven different taco places on this one trip, and none of the other restaurants even came close to the flavor at Tacos El Gordo. Best food for Tijuana style. I love that they have different windows to grab food instead of one line. Can be slightly intimidating at first because it’s a heavy Spanish speaking establishment but they are nice and willing to help. Parking is decent and there is a security guard inside as well to make sure it’s safe.
