I've eaten at all Tacombi in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens. I dunno what they do differently at the Metropolitan ave location, but they make the best tacos. The freshness in ingredients, the ratio of protein to taco, the proteins are never over cooked. All the other locations have the similar ambiance, cool staff, but I think if I had to unnecessarily rank each tacombi restaurant based on food quality, I would place Metropolitan Ave at the top. The differences are subtle but still acknowledable
Has been very hit or miss for us. The Al pastor tacos, guac, horchata and margaritas are great. Chicken tinga was super dry and bland. On our first visit the service was great - super attentive and fast. However on our most recent visit it was a different story even though the restaurant was only 1/3 full. Took forever to get menus and water and they acted annoyed to have to take our order at all.
