Palenque Grill is definitely the best mexican restaurant in McAllen. The prices are a bit steeper than the average place, but the food is worth it. Although they removed it off the menu, I suggest you order the tilapia ceviche right when you sit down and before you order drinks since it takes about 20 minutes to make (well worth it).
