Welcome to Sy's New York Pizza. Located in the heart of the University of Oregon campus on Alder St. We are the closest thing to finding true authentic New York style pizza on the West Coast. Since we opened our doors in 1978, we have been serving New York style pizza to our local students as well as the entire Eugene community. Old school NY Pizza, right down to the seating area I grew up on the east coast, and love NY-style pizza. Sy's is the original NY pizza in Eugene, and is one of my favorite places from which to take pizza out. The ambience is the most like a NY pizzeria that I have seen in a long, long time. I love New York! Sy knows PIzza, that's for sure. Nothing beats the authentic smell and taste of a true New York slice. The pizza chains cannot even come close to the pizza baked at Sy's. Parking isn't great, but it's worth the drive around the block to pick up a piping hot pizza!
Best NY Style Pizza Real NY style pizza! The best by a long shot in this college town.
Satisfactory for a quick bite Don't fool yourself.. This place is satisfactory for a quick bite but not much else. I ordered a pepperoni slice and watched as they took a piece of premade cheese pizza, grabbed some Hormel pepperoni, and put it in the oven again for a few minutes. Not exactly world class pizza here but for a real quick bite it can be ok. It's near the campus so the atmosphere is fairly typical of that.
Best New York Pizza in Eugene, and possibly the state of Oregon Sy's is small and does not deliver, but is worth the drive to either dine in or take out a whole pie. They make cheese pizzas by hand, and you specify what toppings you want to add. They then add the toppings and heat (Contrary to another review, they do not use "Hormel" pepperoni). Pizza Pie The other day when we went to Sy's we had to drive around the block while the other person ran in and got the pizza because parking is very limited. A very nostalgic place if you ate there in college because it looks exactly the same from when I ate there in college 15 years ago. Pizza is a little doughie.
