Emergency room hospital staff was not helpful whatsoever. If you want a hospital that will genuinely only do the bare minimum and not explain any medical results or give you any sort of bedside manner or comfort come to this hospital. The doctor lazily blamed a medical emergency on dehydration despite being told that water had been drank all day. I am most grateful for all of the staff members I encountered on the day of my surgery. I may not remember every name perfectly, but I want to recognize the nurses, including Wayne, Stacy, and Lisa; the OR staff, including Beth; my anesthesiologist, Dr. Dunst; my CRNA, Aman; my physical therapist, Jaime; my discharge NP, Kathy; and of course, my surgeon, Dr. Steinvurzel, whose meticulous work made this procedure possible. I just recently happened to learn about Syosset hospital for the first time, when my mother had to be taken there for emergency surgery. Then I myself had a medical emergency a week later, and eventually needed to have surgery there by a surgeon that was recommended by the emergency unit at Plainview hospital. It's a small, beautiful and clean hospital. Every single member of staff there, from reception and security, to the nurses, doctors and surgeons, were exceptional.
