I retract my previous comment about this place… we payed for additional hours of tutoring (valued at $3,000) for our daughter, only to be ripped off. Ms. Adriene took our money and closed this place down at the end of June 2025. She tried to downplay the whole situation and stated that they would be up and running within 2-4 weeks… we’re in the middle of August now and she has been blowing off our calls and text messages… if anyone has any additional information on this… please comment. I am incredibly proud of my daughter, but I am especially grateful for the outstanding support she has received at Sylvan Learning Center in Downey. Thank you, Ms. Adriene and Miss Kali, for your dedication, encouragement, and genuine care. She has struggled with reading, but thanks to your guidance and support, her skills have improved tremendously. Your efforts have made a meaningful impact on her confidence and academic growth. This place is all about taking money from you don't sign up kids here you will regret it Had to speak to Adriene about my refund and acted very childish so now I have to go through my bank for a dispute and fighting to get my refund back
Sylvan has been such a lifesaver… my daughter was struggling with math and since signing her up for tutoring, we’ve seen amazing progress. My daughters’ confidence has improved! But most importantly, she is seen - the teachers here at Sylvan know my daughter better than her actual teacher at school. The director Adriene is so welcoming and helpful. The tutors are amazing. Miss. Kali is so sweet and helpful! We re-enrolled our daughter so a second round of tutoring - that’s how amazing it is.
