Somewhat tucked away, modern eatery in downtown San mateo. Good for small gatherings. I was intrigued by the range offered on the menu - Latin, asian, European, American, though the quality didn't match up to the variety. Grilled veggie board had sliced carrots, eggplant, and zucchini too blackened to eat. Fried chicken sandwich was pretty - photogenic but the batter was rather burnt. Walked by and decided to stop for midweek dinner! So glad we did!! Food was delicious: Started with the veggie eggrolls then ordered the veggie jambalaya and veggie gumbo. Both were delicious! Will be back again next week and maybe get takeout too!! Really nice servers and the owner was very welcoming! Would be great for large groups? 😋

Swing Shift promised a global comfort food experience, but unfortunately, it fell short. The restaurant is solely indoor, offering a mix of high and regular tables. While finding parking can be a challenge, it's manageable in the surrounding neighborhoods. The restaurant's interior feels unfinished and lacks the warmth, so it can use some touch-ups.
