Drove from Virginia to go to Watkins Glen then found this gem of a park. We had the perfect hike along the gorge then back and then swam in the freezing, yet satisfyingly sweet natural pool at the bottom of the falls. What a treat! I promised myself to jump off of the crazy high diving board, and, with the help of ny son, I did it! Definitely the highlight of our short trip!
What's not to love about this place. It's $8 For parking pass, which can be used at all the other state parks for the day, ample parking, life guards, let's not forget the beautiful water fall WHICH u can swim up to, diving board, walking trails, picnic area - all available for u to make some new memories. AWESOME!
A great find. Very similar to Watkins Glen in geology. BUT only 1/3 the crowds. Beautiful. Love the swimming hole But having the water temp thermometer 2 feet in kiddie pool doesn't give you right temp for where adults swim. That eater is about 10 degrees colder
Had a wonderful time walking to see all the waterfalls. Be sure to bring your swimsuit to get wet in the old fashioned fresh water swimming whole at the bottom of the lower falls. It's areat way to chill your legs after exploring all of the waterfalls in the area. Also don't forget your picnic baskets...nice area to have a picnic. Truly a beautiful park!
