My daughter and I yurt camped here recently. We enjoyed the nice and clean restrooms. We've camped in High Falls before so this wasn't our first time. It rained while we were there, but it just made our yurt cozy. There was also a playground nearby and I liked that there was a water spigot. It was really nice to rinse off our feet using it.

We did some research before driving out to Sweetwater Creek State Park yesterday due to the COVID-19 situation. All social media sites and the official website noted that the park was open. However when we arrived, the parking lots were blocked off with "Lot Full" signage. Cars were actively leaving the parks, however personnel were not letting anyone new in. Wonderful park. True gem just outside Atlanta. Please enjoy and conserve.
The guy who closes the park is very nasty ...... He closing about an hour early ..... sign says close at dark but it’s closing well before dark.... we pay to park to enjoy our outing at the Creek but with such a nasty guy to end your day I wouldn’t recommend no one to come here so they don’t have to meet such a nasty person ..... I don’t know his name but he’s new he is Africa. American and he has a nasty attitude..... it didn’t use to be like this with no other individual who closed the park but this guy is just rude all ar... read more
This is such a great park & we are so lucky to have it here in Douglas County just outside Atlanta. I live a couple miles away & visit often to hike & kayak. There are 4 main trails that offer a variety of lengths & most are easy/very moderate, lots of wildlife, fishing, water activities (including kayaks & paddle boats that you can rent). Dog friendly, playground, camping, picnic sites & several areas for parking.
Absolutely a fantastic place to visit, tent camp or stay in a yurt! Loved the white trail, awesome views on the creek. It’s five miles so plan accordingly.
I'm a local photographer and this park has been so great for so many people that have wanted pictures taken here. Engagement, Maternity and sweet 16 pictures. So much more. Thank you
Truly one of the best state parks I’ve ever been to, if not THE best. All the falls are beautiful and the ruins are absolutely amazing. The little museum in the visitor center is great too. Two thumbs way up!
