Unsatisfactory Experiences I really do hate to be the first one to give them a bad review and I have never complained about a business in my life before. However, I started working in the High Point area about 1 1/2 years ago and heard such great things about the bakery and couldnt wait to try them! Just 1 more reason to travel to High Point! I have had Sweet Shoppe Bakery cakes and cookies most of my life. I can remember as a child having birthday cakes from there. I love them still today! Hands down, the best cut out cookies I've ever had! I live in Wake Forest (2 hours away) and my dad still lives in High Point. He brings cookies and cakes when he can. I wish you had a website for ordering!
The smell will get ya every time! This bakery is the best! I drive over 2 hours just to shop at (and smell) this wonderful bakery. Everything I have tried is great. It's one of the good old fashioned bakeries with friendly customer service.
I miss this place! During our five years living in High Point, Sweet Shoppe was hands down my favorite place for cakes and yummies!! They did most of my son's birthday cakes, and the cakes always looked better than I expected, and they always tasted great. The shop smells like the icing that they use - I can't explain it, you just have to go! And if you are bargain hunting, check out the bottom rack near the door. They sell their day old goodies for a steal in very large packages!
Birthday Cakes I ALWAYS order my daughter's birthday cake from Sweet Shoppe Bakery. It is always moist and delicious. The icing is sweet but not overly done. Perfect. The staff is always friendly and will help you will anything they can. We have been going to Sweet Shoppe bakery since I was a child (long time) and now I'm glad I can hand down this tradition to my daughter.
YUUUMMMMY! I have never tasted anything at this bakery that I did not absolutely love...cookies, cakes, cupcakes, brownies, pies, breads, etc!!! The smell when you walk in the door is heavenly! The staff is also very friendly and knowledgeable. The only negative is that I think I gain 10 pounds every time I walk in the door!
Review I have tired alot of cakes and The Sweet Shoppe has the best cakes ever. I have only had Birthday cakes and some of the pastrys. But my daughter is getting married in March and I was just wanting to look at some wedding cakes. I have actually made wedding cakes before and I know that can be time consuming. I would like to but not at this time.
Brownies to Die For! This bakery has the best chocolate brownies I have ever eaten. They are so moist and just melt in your mouth. I also like their cakes and cookies. Every product that I have ever bought has been good, but the brownies just stand out with me. The employees have always been courteous and friendly and when I have placed a special order it has always been ready on time and done correctly including a cake that we had done with writing on the top of it for my husband's grandmother's birthday.
