My wife was brought in by ambulance for a seizure with oxygen deprivation. Even though she came to the er by ambulance, the hospital thought it would be a great idea to have her wait in an unsupervised overflow waiting area without family contact. For 6 hours. Without a CT scan. Only had a blood draw, and never even saw a doctor or nurse practitioner of any sort during those 6 hours. This emergency room has horrible reviews , but I have been here twice and have always been treated kindly and with respect . I think it’s all about the way you treat people . If you show up with a nasty attitude being rude and disgusting to the people who are tying to help you then it’s no surprise that you may receive that treatment back . I saw several patients being nasty to the staff that were just trying to do their jobs . Let me start out by saying that I've encountered some great staff in this facility. However, the care I have received has been sub-par. I take many things into consideration. I do show often as I am fighting for a better quality of life battling multiple chronic illnesses, trying to find the right help. That being said, when a physician orders a CT for a possible trauma and the doctor who took his place says its not necessary, cancels it, and in hos notes he says I denied the imaging because I felt better. .I got stuck 4x wi... read more

So yesterday I spent a good six hours waiting at the UW Swedish American emergency room waiting for a CT scan on my brain to be performed as I fell down my front stairs and sort of blacked out for a moment. I felt like I was losing my mind because of the wait Finally, I got back and had the scan and was relieved that I did not have a brain bleed. I asked the staff if that was a typical evening for them and was told that it was actually slower than usual. I was told that they are always busy bc they're the only emergency room... read more
