Not so great customer service. When we were shopping for siding, we visited their lumber department. We couldn't get anyone to help us...or even acknowledge our presence for that matter! The rest of the store has good service. My husband says it is like that every time he goes to the lumber department. I have to say, though, that after sending a note to the store manager, he did call to apologize. We will shop there again. PROS: Good selection, good prices CONS: Aloof departmental staff
Probably my best hardware store experience was today at southerlamds! A super nice employee who was on break in the parking lot in his vehicle, got out to help me load some 2x4's and tin on a trailer! Larry deserves a raise! As a woman. Most building materials are bulky and heavy for me! Thanks Larry! I appreciate you!
Love this place ! Staff all very nice . Wish they would open one in leesville or deridder, Louisiana because we only have Stines or lowes & they need the competition & also sutherlands carries items that neither one of them does . And sutherlands prices are very reasonable .
Appreciate the level of customer service the store in Alexandria offers. Scott is especially helpful and endlessly patient. If Sutherlands doesn't have an item in the store, they will try everything to order it for you and have it there in a few days! For all your grown-ups...be sure to inquire about the Senior discount and the 'ladies nights" offered periodically! - Every little bit helps!
they offer a military discount everyday and a senior discount on Wednesdays ... also they have competitive prices !
i called to find out how much a foundation for a new shed would cost. they where friendly and very helpful. when i got there they had my order ready. it was a lot cheaper then the competition.
split or splitter – After having two trees down along with my aunt and mother having two down each, I decided to buy a splitter. After seaching prices I decided on suthderlands.I was told by 2 young female workers that the price on the splitter i was looking at was 1348 I then came home and looked up the splitter on the internet and to my surprise the com had been around since 1947 ( swisher ) .
