Pretty decent sushi and great service – This was my second visit in two years. The sushi here is very fresh and the a la carte menu is extensive (e.g. live octopus). My husband and I were not disappointed. Our server was also very attentive, despite the packed crowds at around 8pm. The only thing I don't recommend is the tuna sashimi appetizer with quail egg. A normal a la carte sushi dinner here will set you back about $50 a person (without alcohol).

very good – The food is a little pricy, but this is defiantly a place to try great mouthwatering sushi-a great selection of fresh, seasonal fish-The service is top-notch and the people there are very friendly. This is a restaurant everyone should go to.

Excellent Sushi, service depends on your wallet size – If you are nobody, they will sit you in the table area with "common people", and they will treat you so. Sushi is excellent for price and location. Sushi counter is TOO expensive. You may also see many Japanese cerebs here...I've seen many TV stars, Politicians, criminals, etc. Don't forget a camera!

Very Good Sushi – I believe this is authentic sushi. Fish is fresh and the rolls were quite good. Ambience is far better than your typical sushi place. Its a bit on the expensive side.

"Real" japanese sushi – If anyone knows ANYTHING about the Japanese culture, then they would agree with me when I say this place is a REAL TRADITIONAL JAPANESE RESTARAUNT.The sushi they serve here is the EXACTLTY the same as eating out in Japan. They specialize in torro(who knew there were so many varieties of this fish)and I would also suggest their negimaki. They also have private zashiki rooms(with tatami floors, japanese flower arrangements, etc)and the waitresses all wear kimonos. Not like Nobu, where they sell only by name,no... read more

Classic Sushi – If you are looking for sushi the way most Japanese prefer sushi then this is the place for you. Good quality fish. Good selection. Quiet and clutter free. But if you prefer non-authentic Americanized tasting sushi, then you'd prefer a place like Haru.

It was fine, not great – I went to Sushiden on a Friday night around 8:00, the place was pretty empty, we had reservations, but we didnt need them. Ordering was a bit disappointing, they have a large selection of different fish, but it seemed like everyone I tried to order they were out of. How can a sushi bar not have surf clam and scallop, but have three types of Torro? And then at 9:30/9:45 our waitress came by telling us that is was last call, that they were closing down the sushi bar at 10:00 and if we wanted anything e... read more

Disappointed – The quality of the fish was pretty good, but not the freshest we have ever had. The portions of the sushi/sashimi packages were very small yet overpriced. We have had fresher fish and more generous portions at better prices at Haru. Also extremely slow service. We were not surprised to notice that half of the restaurant was empty on a Friday Night.

Delicious! – One of the best Sushi you will find in NYC. Excellent service, newly renovated and convenient from my office in Midtown Manhattan. Private tatami rooms upstairs is great when you have a guest!
