Food wasn’t good, I don’t know if the other reviewers are bots or what, but the sushi was really dry and tasted like it had been sitting for a long time. The waitress did not warn us about the leftover rule, and even if we had known, we were overcharged for the amount of leftovers we had (our charge was disproportionate to our leftovers) stay away from this place, save your money for somewhere nicer.
Unfortunately, the food was very average. The fish was bland and lacked flavor, but my biggest concern was how they handled my gluten allergy. I told the waitress upfront that I have a gluten allergy. She switched the regular soy sauce for gluten-free liquid aminos, which I appreciated and which made me believe they understood the importance of avoiding gluten. Nice sushi spot in Costa Mesa. Everything we ordered was presented nicely. The staff was friendly, and we had a good experience.
Koyi Sushi offers a wide variety of rolls to choose from, all at relatively affordable prices. The fish to rice ratio was great and fresh too. The service was quick and reliable, while not being intrusive. Overall, I had a great experience, and would totally come again!
Great spot for AYCE! Great service as well, shoutout to my server, Tessica! Definitely coming back with more friends so they can experience this as well!
