RecommendedThere seemed to be a slight dip in quality when Tony first retired but I went back for the first time in awhile (2/28/20) and it was FANTASTIC. better than any other sushi I've found in the area and I'm happy to have my favorite place back. ☆☆☆☆☆
An artistically quaint and dreamy nook hidden in the underbelly of West Akron. From the color scheme to the feng shui to the dashi.. Hours are slim for a reason and it’s worth fitting this in your schedule. The menu offers Japanese staples and Tokyo cult recipes covered in a very colorful way as the Sushi chefs are true masters. Enter Sushi Katsu and you will feel like you have entered a magical portal to the far recesses of some nostalgic memory of the Tokyo culinary underground.
I randomly drove past this place and went in for some take out wasn’t a long wait very helpful. The mussels I had was so good I ate them in the car before I got home.Sushi was AMAZING I will be back for more. Highly recommend. Nice hidden gem in Akron
Sushi Katsu became our go to sushi place after my first visit about 18 months ago. My husband also takes out of town (German) co-workers here for excellent casual meals. They request it every visit. This restaurant has a large selection on their standard menu. They also have a seasonal menu and daily specials. On Saturdays we like to get an assortment of rolls and their sashimi combo special. Their food is fresh and delicious.
EVERYTHING!! Tin and crew are amazing! I love the interaction and atmosphere. The sushi is top notch and the conversation is always interesting. Fresh and fantastic. Can’t wait to go back! Tin is a total Rock Star ⭐️

I’ll start by praising the food, the quality of the sushi I experienced was superb. The taste is something I wish I could enjoy daily. Unfortunately for a place that holds roughly 30 people, with 20 people in the place, my wait time was beyond any normal expectations. Waiting over an hour and being told “I don’t know what to tell you, we’re busy” is not something I expected from a place that is known for its quality. I left disappointed.
