My actual experience as a patient at MAHEC two years ago was wonderful; I chose to be seen by the four midwives on staff, and I had excellent pre-natal care and the birth experience and outcomes that I had hoped for. The "Poor" rating is the result of the fact that they have since changed their policies so that women can no longer choose between midwifery and OB-GYN care; you just get whichever happens to be on call to attend your birth.
