As others have noted, she lacks empathy and doesn't listen to her patients. After ending up in the hospital, I decided it was time to find someone new and I'm so glad I did!
I wish I could rate her zero stars. She definitely lacks empathy and talks down to you. I do not trust her professional judgement. When I tried to bring up another health concern, she said that's not what you are here for. What? Is she not a primary care physician? She's definitely fired after this recent visit! (I think it's likely time for her to retire as she must be beyond burned out.)
I went for a first time visit as a new patient. The elbow bump instead of a handshake turned me off right from the beginning. She wasn’t personable at all. She didn’t even try to get to know me or find out anything about me. She was very tasky and not wanting to be bothered with questions. She stayed in the corner and asked questions from her computer making it very difficult to see her and make eye contact. When I asked her about the various vaccines and about the safety of the vaccine, she answered with a question “Why wou... read more
Dr. Sheppard is so easy to talk with. Her manner helps me relax. She is very knowledgeable and is not judgmental. I highly recommend her.
Dr. Sheppard is an outstanding physician and cares deeply for her patients. Her personality is that of a person who is "straight with no chaser".She treats her (adult) patients as adults and has expectations for patients to work as hard in their health care as she does in her diagnosis and treatment. If you have an issue with a woman who is direct and gets to the point plus holds you accountable, then Dr. Sheppard may not be your physician of choice. If you want a Medical PARTNER-she is the 1.
If I could give 0 stars I would. I was a patient of hers and she would not listen to me about my lung issue and would not give me an xray. I went a full week with a collapsed lung when another doctor advised I immediately get an xray but Dr Sheppard still refused and yelled at him for telling her patient for what to do. She said if I think something is wrong go to the emergency room then. I had to have major surgery and in hospital for several weeks and over 3 months off work
I've been a patient of Dr. Sheppard's for the past year. She is very thorough, spends time with her patients, and seems genuinely concerned. In addition, the office is ran like a well-oiled machine with little to no wait time and the office staff is awesome.
Dr Sheppard listens and is very thorough. I trust her completely! If you need an appointment right away, it is very difficult, if not impossible, because she is a very good Doctor.
