I have been a pt of Dr. Chambers for 15 years. I was diagnosed with a very rare form of Uterine CA at age 19. She diagnosed me (along with many other specialists) and performed my life saving surgery. When I was in remission for 5 years she sent roses to my workplace. I would recommend her to anyone and have. She has also "fit me in" when I have needed a follow up appt. as I live a hundred miles away. I think she is terrific.
she had been my dr for years, then once she built lakeside she changed from a concerned caring person to all business, with little time for patients and no time to listen. have changed drs.
I am so sorry that some of you may have had an unpleasant circumstance with Dr. Chambers. I have had the complete opposite! I have never felt rushed or treated unkindly by her or her staff. I feel like she had a very significant effect on my mental heath as well as my physical. I am sure that there have been things that she may not have caught early, but I am sure that she will not be the first or last doctor that ever does. I find her very caring and very honest.
Both my mom and I have seen her in the past. My experience with her was fine, however, my mom's was very different. My mom told her that she was having nipple discharge, and Dr. Chambers just said it was probably nothing to worry about. My mom wasn't convinced and went for a second opinion. The result was a diagnosis of Stage 3 breast cancer. The lump that they finally found had been undected by a mammogram my mom had three months earlier, so the only sign was the discharge. Lakeside Womens Hospital I loved-Dr. Chambers and Staff I did not. Dr. seemed put out of her way to answer any questions I asked. Bedside manner was horrible. I was treated like I didn't belong as soon as my insurance changed. Staff rarely returned phone calls no sooner than 2- days later. Dr. Chambers personal nurse was very unprofessional, discourteous and had horrible attitude.
