Fantastic – My wife and I went here for our five year anniversary. It was an amazing meal in every way. The food was some of the best Indian I've ever had - the Bhagan Barta was amazing! The service was also exemplary. A couple examples: 1) I accidentally had a drip of sauce on my shirt and the waiter proactively asked if I wanted club soda; 2) When we finished our bottle of wine, a nice Sencere from France, we only wanted a glass of wine each. Simply Superb – Having just moved to the West Village from London, I was very happy to find Surya. I loved the decor, the service and quality of food, you just need to be here once to want to go back, I have come to know the staff at Surya quite well who are all very good at what they do. I will go back and recomend this place to everyone, and oh yeah the foods the best too (try the rogan josh, the tandoori assortment, e vanilla vindaloo and the peach sorbet)
excellent food – I have tried in almost all the best indian restaurants in new york and new jersey.But i think the food in surya is excellent,specially saturdays buffet kidney beans,and chicken tikka masala.Each curry has its own distinct taste and aroma.I loved the food.
Great Place – The service here is great. The waiters are very attentive. The food is also very decently priced, and the food itself is delicious. I've dined here several times as a big group and as a table for two. I've never had issues with reservations, service, or food.
Surya, A Upscale Restaurant in NYC – Authentic Indian cuisine served avant-garde style; this upscale restaurant is a breath of fresh air. This has to be one of the best Indian places I've ever been to. The service was impeccable - I felt like I was back in India. Fabulous dinner experience – This truly is one of my favaorite Indian restaurants. Not only is the food amazing, but the atmosphere and friendly staff make the experience memorable. We had the jhinga balchau shrimp and vegetable rolls for appetizers which were delectable. The chicken chettinad and bhuna ghosh served for the main course were perfectly seasoned and flawlessly complemented the basmati rice and garlic naan. Amazing – I was there another night the food was amazing the service was wonderfull and the whole experience was marvelous. They have a great backyard garden I love thier special drinks I been to so many Indian restauraunts in the city and so far Surya is the best.
Hollywood in NYC. – I have been to many Fancy resteraunts in NYC, but never have I seen so many stars around. I was there last Friday when "The Million Dollar Baby" comes in with her Oscar. On a few other occasions I have seen Eric Stoltz, and a few more celebs.This place is quite different from most Indian places I have eaten in and I love the atmosphere.
