The system is definitely overwhelmed but when a person is in a situation of needing immediate medical attention, you get it. I was fortunate to be treated by Dr. Jonathan, who was attentive, patient and calming. The team of nurses were available, attentive and friendly at all times. The entire team made this difficult experience manageable and calming.
Surrey Memorial “Emergency” is a complete joke. The staff clearly don’t understand the meaning of emergency. I came in with severe back pain, told them multiple times how bad it was, and they just ignored me. FIVE hours of waiting in agony – what kind of emergency care is this? This is how BC’s so-called emergency system works? Totally unprofessional and unacceptable.
