All are very friendly and happy to answer questions. Edit: I'm 3 years+ out and have lost all the weight I wanted to loose. I'm down 125 lbs and it feels so great! I went from a size 18 to a size 6. Health wise it's been such a winner. Thank you Dr Merriman
I’m very pleased with Dr. Merriman and the whole process of my hernia repair surgery. Everything from start to finish to healing has been seamless.The office staff are helpful and friendly and his PA has been there to answer all my questions and concerns. I highly recommend Dr. Merriman for anyone needing a hernia repair surgery. I’m very happy with my experience!
During surgery he accidentally cut my intestines. While I am not upset about that I am upset at the level of care after. Before I get started, I don’t regret the surgery it changed my life for the better. First after the surgery, he closed me up then 3 hours later other doctor came to close my intestines. In recovery, I was told to walk but it was hard to breath and my heart rate was high and when I moved it shot up in the 200+ range. So anytime I tried to walk the nurse told me to get back in bed. I have several health issues which means I have several doctors. Out of all of my current and previous providers, Dr. Merriman has been one of the lowest quality. He is definitely skilled in terms of "performing weight loss surgery," but that isn't the only thing to look for in a weight-loss doctor. Dr. Merriman was curt and sarcastic while speaking to my family after the surgery. Once I was an established patient, he spoke to me in the same way. In reference to Ms. Valdez’s negative review, 10 years is a long time for a procedure to potentially have problems. Dr. Merriman overall doesn’t care for the lap band and states so in the pre-start meeting. Some people choose this because they feel comfort in a reversible procedure. They aren’t ready to commit to a more involved procedure. I to had a lap band from another Dr. in another state. It failed as well. The tube allowing fluid to tighten the band broke from the band.
