Good food, fast service , nice atmosphere
WARNING: Surf Rider restaurant at 725 Eden Way in Chesapeake served me the absolute worst seafood meal yesterday I have ever had in my entire life....and I eat a lot of seafood. Ordered crab meat shrimp platter. The shrimp were toxic iodine tasting that were overcooked to the point of could be used as rubber bullets. No lie.The crab meat was tastless obviously not fresh, tasted like old chicken. Lyndas scallops actually we're not too bad, but my plate was rank.
Very impressed with the menu. Generous portions also. And, crab cakes are crab cakes. The shrimp not only are delicious but perfectly deviened and presented in a tasty manner. something I never tried was a cheeseburger with a crab cake on the top. The special was crab soup. Next time I will try the steamed crabs, clams shrimp sausage corn etc. Restrooms tell you a lot about a place. You only get one chance to make a good impression and they did. Hope my business is finished quickly so I can do lunch before we fly out.

Our previous 2 experiences were not good. They redeemed themselves tonite with perfectly cooked tuna and delicious homemade fried clams. Service was exceptional with Jenny!

My girlfriend's took me to Surf Rider's when it was on Newtown rd in Norfolk and the food was out this world. portions was awesome and service was too! Yes I say it the best place to get seafood just the way you like it FRESH!!! I recommend you try it for yourself!!! mmm good!
