Bad service, mediocre food – Service is almost none existent. I went there for lunch and dinner few times each. There will be a pitcher of water on your table, who knows how long it's been sitting there. The waiter will bring empty glasses and you must pour yourself, because he walks away immediately. Here's the deal... – We've been coming here since before the relocation. The reviews I've read made me realize I need to set a few things straight. The service here is not like other restaurants. This does not mean it is bad. They will never make you feel unwelcome unless you are a jerk and need to be treated that way or you can't appreciate delicious food when you have it. Great food, bad service – As the number of places to get authentic south Indian food decrease in the Minneapolis area we turn to Surabhi time and time again. Always the food is very flavorful and extremely tasty (although we only order vegetarian fare so we cannot speak to the meat dishes). We constantly endure the service and as regulars we are fairly used to it. Our recommendation is to order everything at once and make sure you don't forget anything.

Really Bad Service! – We have been to this place more than once. The first time, we were a little taken aback at the uncommunicative waiter and shabby service. The food was decent and we thought maybe the waiter was having a bad day.We didn't realize that's how the employees at this place behave regularly! So we tried it again after a few months. Unfriendly and distant – Went for lunch. There is no service. One young lady that was folding napkins, spoke on her cell phone for our entire meal. Also the food at the buffet was just slightly warm. We told the other server that the food wasn't warm enough - he didn't understand English well. Finally he went to the kitchen - and came back with the excuse that it's supposed to be like that.

Things have changed – I remember going to surabhi in 2005 and it was amazing HOWEVER keep in mind things have changed. I've seen a change in the whole staff and management(perhaps they changed management?) This has really been a terrible change. Food is horrible now, and the staff is almost downright silly. Bad Service – I've eaten at Surabhi several times because it's close to where I live. However, the food isn't that great and the service is even worse. I finally got fed up with the staff and decided not to give this restaurant my business anymore. Good and Bad...mostly Bad – We have eaten from Surabhi quite a few times because it is so convenient to us. After getting appalling service the first couple of times, at both old and new locations, we started taking out. Although they provide a lot of sides with the Thali meal this does not translate to take out, so many things were missing that I felt jipped.
