Superior Hyundai North refused to sell me a car based on my refusal to sign their "FACTS Form [What Does Superior Hyundai North Do With Your Personal Information]" On a cash deal they insist that under government instruction that they must identify you beyond having your social security no., drivers license & Military Discharge DD 214 form [for a Military Discount]. We strive to adhere to all state and federal requirements. This individual would not sign the form and there was no vehicle purchased by him. We wish him well in his future vehicle purchase endeavors at other dealerships.
We took a car with *****Blue Book value of $8000-9000 to trade-in for an upgrade. Their offer was $6700 for trade-in and tried a lengthy explanation of why. After I explained I had already looked up the *BB value, they increased the offer to $8600. This is not fair practice for those not prepared like I was. It should be illegal actually. We didn't come to terms on a new car, but we were ok with that and not the reason for the bad review. It is wrong to low ball customers. This needs to stop.
I own a 2011 Sonata, it is the second Sonata I have purchased here, mostly, because I am stupid I guess. With my 04, the transmission had a few hiccups on the highway trip to Fla, they "tested" it found nothing, and 4000mi outside of warranty, trans failed. I bought an 11' and of course, it seems to be the most recall ridden vehicle in history. Had it tested for an engine recall, it passed of course, several months later, engine blows.
