Yesterday I drove in horrible conditions to get to my dentist appointment. My dentist was unable to go forward with my treatment plan because Superior denied the claim due to me having crowns over 15 years ago. They were not even my insurance company at that point. They asked me to tell them when and where these crowns were placed and remember what took place over 15 years ago. I have no teeth in the spot that needs implants and can not eat on that side. Allow the Dentists to decide what is and is not necessary in the care of patient. Telling me a root canal is not covered on a front tooth because they don't feel the tooth has a good prognosis...WTH?!
My dentist saw a cavity below my gum line on an X-ray and told me I’d need crown lengthening for her to be able to reach it. I got a second opinion and was told the same thing. Superior wouldn’t cover it even though it was necessary to treat the cavity. I understand not covering the procedure for cosmetic reasons but this was necessary for treatment. I have had Superior for years and they are decent. Just took my daughter to get her wisdom teeth out and called Superior prior to get details first. Told that if I took my daughter to one of the listed dentists it would be $350 out of pocket and the insurance would cover the balance. So we went to one of the recommended dentist (he did great). Then I get an extra bill for $105 since my daughter needed an extra dose of anesthetic. Never mentioned that I may be out more than the original deductible. Just make sure you confirm ... read more

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE! Saw a listed provider from Superior's website and was told AFTER the dentist appointment I was told I had to pay the entire bill then Superior would reimburse me. Took the not telling me part up with the dentist (found a new one). That was on Jan. 4th. Called 2 weeks ago to find out where payment was going to be mailed out. Was told last week or this week. Called again today and was told next week or the next. And something about an needing ino from the employer! This is absolutely ridiculous!
