They were out of the vegetarian options completely. Took employees 30 mins to tell me they were out of chicken for my sandwich. Half my group waited up to 40 mins for our food as a whole. When one friend did get their sandwich, it had a hair in it. We ended up leaving, a third of us without even being able to try the food because who wants to wait even longer after seeing a food safety violation
The worst restaurant experience I’ve had in a very long time. I never even got my food, and after seeing what happened with my friend’s order, I probably would’ve thrown it away anyway. We got there around 2:30 PM, and there were very few other customers. They were already out of their vegetarian protein, which was the entire reason my friend had chosen this place for us. This was an unfortunate experience. We went to try some of the vegan/vegetarian options and they didn't have any of the vegan meat. The girl at the counter told us the vegan reuben smells like dog food anyway. She also kept being incredibly pushy and overall strange. She kept trying to get us to add more to our order after repeatedly telling her no. Have you ever gone a place that just makes you smile? From the awesome staff behind the counter, to the delicious fresh bread and sandwich, to the wonderfully fresh house made pasta salads, everything just made me smile. The place is bright and cheerful, and has some great outdoor seating.. and if you're looking for a great sandwich, you can't go wrong at the Super Submarine in Valparaiso.
Great family owned spot off the square. Owners were so kind and sandwiches were tasty. We will be back!
