If you’re looking for a place to stay in Mattoon and want a crash course in discomfort, the Super 8 might just be the full experience. From the moment we entered the room, the smell hit us—a unique blend of musty air and mystery funk. The sheets? Let’s just say they hadn’t seen detergent in a good while, and you could tell. I freaking love Patti. The Super 8 in Mattoon has a great Walmart across the street filled with Amish people, and the service is phenomenal. Some of the rooms even come with pets, like roaches, and the views were superb. Don't turn the air conditioner up too high though or you will smell burning. I highly recommend staying here, and make sure you get Patti's business card. If you ever go to room 225 be sure to say hi to big tim. DON'T SMELL.
