cockroaches and bed bugs traumatized my family
The staff here was great. Helpful with anything I needed. I recommend one of the ocean view rooms, it made the experience so much better.
Despite my better judgement I was tempted to book by the price. I found evidence of bedbugs in my room and while the desk let me switch rooms twice each one had the same issue (pics attached). The manager promised a refund but didn’t follow through despite multiple follow-ups. (Booking partner offer, Booking confirmed the property must confirm refund and did not authorize them.) The people who operate this motel are very nice and try to be accommodating. Unfortunately, maintenance is grossly lacking and a motel that has the ability to be inviting and highly welcoming is, instead, third rate. It is clean, the beds are comfortable, but is aging and significantly lacking in pride by the owners, Examples: A lamp not plugged in because there is no outlet and it doesn't have a bulb; holes in the wall where a mirror was moved and they didn't bother to use ten cents worth of spackle to fill them; a breakfas... read more
Stayed here overnight for almost $300 because I had to catch the next flight out to Wrangell in the AM. Only thing that barely saved the experience was the front desk service and the view I had from my very frosted aged glass window -I tell myself it gave it an ambience-. I mainly blame myself for not planning better as its my first time solo traveling out here but will not be booking a musty room, with no AC and stained walls, if I ever visit Ketchikan again.
