G’day, folks! Fresh off a jaunt from Australia, I pulled into the Super 8 by Wyndham Ankeny/Des Moines Area in Ankeny, Iowa, for a bit of shut-eye and a feed. This place is a proper gem—clean rooms, service that’s friendlier than a mate sharing their last Tim Tam, and a vibe that’s as cozy as a campfire on a cool night. The service is top-shelf. Super 8 hotels are two-star hotels, and they don't claim otherwise. So I am rating this with that in mind.. That said, Ankeny Super 8 is one of the nicest Super 8 hotels I've ever stayed at, and is very reasonably priced. On top of this, the owner is a super friendly, knowledgeable guy.. I'd definitely recommend this hotel!
Met our needs for a quick overnight stop while on vacation travel. The cost for a Sat to Sun stay for this quality was high! Our rooms were clean and they serve breakfast.
Do not stay here. Repeat DO NOT STAY Here. We were coming back from a vacation in CO and needed a place to sleep for a few hours before we finished our trip to MN. We got there 4 minutes past our deadline to arrive and they canceled our reservation. I think once they saw we were a family they realized they did not want us staying there. By the looks of the place we were not their target audience.
