SUP Shack is now located at two great locations. The Santa Cruz Harbor location is the best place to get on the water to learn stand up paddle board. Second location at the Rio Del Mar Beach, Aptos is great for paddling up to the Cement Ship and practicing your ocean skills. Stand Up Paddle boarding is a great core workout. I had a wonderful stand up paddle board lesson with Trudy. (Or Trudie, didn't catch the spelling). I had never been on a board before and the SUP Shack was the perfect place to start. I was nervous because I had an accident on a balance training board a year prior, and even though this was totally different and much safer, I started out a bit frozen. Trudy was very patient and taught me everything I needed to know to be standing with confidence 20 minutes later. 11/10 would recommend!
I wholeheartedly recommend Trudie and Sup Shack for all your paddle boarding needs. Trudie is very knowledgeable and in hour that we spent together I learned more about hard paddle boards than ever before. She really cares about her customers and their needs, takes time to find the best fit for each person and gives incredible deals for the gear. My husband and I were lucky to get two Brusurf hard paddle boards for an incredible price, and Trudie helped us with everything that we will need in the future for our paddle boards... read more
