I have had my mother here for 3 years now. Like all assisted living facilities you have ups and downs. The staff has been wonderful to me and my mom, even when she gets difficult. It's to bad there is such high turnover in this field but it happens at ALL the facilities. It is truly one of the only places that accept medicaid and thar is huge. It is clean and comfortable and they all try to keep the residents happy. I am so glad they are there for me.
The enhanced care facility is well staffed and maintained. The staff are friendly and appear to be responsive to the residents' needs. Meals offer good quality and variety. I would highly recommend the facility for anyone who needs a greater level of care than assisted living provides.
Placing Mom in memory care was one of the hardest things we have ever had to do. It is not an easy transition. Sunshine was good about allowing Mom to keep her bed and other familiar things. Her little dog can visit her, and any other resident willing to pet or scratch an ear, as often as we like. The staff is friendly, and I can see that Mom is comfortable with them and she feels safe. There are activities and a lovely garden area to sit and enjoy. If Mom has to be in a care facility, we are glad that she is in Sunshine.
Sunshine is the best. Mom has been there 2 years. Wheelchair bound. The caregivers take care of all her needs. She has family visit her 5 days a week. The care is the best. Plenty of activities to keep her occupied. Exercising, painting, bingo. Several times a week. And no complaints on the food served. 3 meals a day, snacks twice a day and lots of hot tea. Mom and family have no issues with Sunshine. Go online and check out all that is offered. Not only assisted living but other care services are available.
